Indoor LED video walls

For hotel ballrooms, conference stages, exhibition booths and indoor brand activations, compare the audience’s closest viewing distance, screen dimensions, the amount of text or detailed graphics on screen and the proposed pixel pitch. Check the physical cabinet sizes and finished display resolution with the supplier before finalising your creative artwork.

Outdoor LED screens

Outdoor events may need panels with appropriate brightness and weather protection plus a location-specific support and power plan. The required specification varies with exposure to direct sunlight, operating hours, screen orientation, wind, rain precautions and venue permissions. An indoor cabinet should not automatically be treated as suitable for an uncovered outdoor installation.

Custom-shaped, curved and mobile display setups

Curved, non-rectangular and mobile-mounted LED installations are possible industry configurations, but they should be requested with sketches and the actual installation constraints. Availability of particular panels, trailers, shapes or connection systems is subject to confirmation and should not be assumed from a generic rental listing.

LED pixel pitch explained: P2.6, P2.9, P3.9 and beyond

Pixel pitch is the centre-to-centre distance between pixels, measured in millimetres. A smaller pitch typically gives more resolution at the same physical screen size and is often considered when people will be close to the display. A larger pitch may be suitable at longer distances. Labels such as P2.6, P2.9 and P3.9 are examples of screen specifications, not a statement of which models DXB Audio Visual currently has available.

The final selection also depends on brightness, contrast, content type, camera use, refresh characteristics and the actual viewing angles. If your screen will show fine-text presentations, diagrams or live camera feeds, share samples before selecting the display.

How to plan LED wall size and screen placement

• Display dimensions: Share width and height in metres plus any minimum or maximum permitted footprint.
• Audience distance: Include nearest and farthest viewing points, sightlines and whether guests stand or sit.
• Content format: State whether you need a 16:9 programme feed, a very wide stage backdrop, sponsor graphics, presentations or a live video feed.
• Playback: Identify laptop, media server, switcher and camera feeds, including the connector type and desired output resolution where known.
• Installation: Confirm floor support versus approved hanging points, stage depth, access, power, delivery window and crew needs.

A display’s pixel width and height are calculated from the physical dimensions and selected pitch; a large screen does not automatically have a standard 1920 × 1080 canvas. Ask for the final pixel map or content specification before producing your graphics.

Quotes can vary with display area, pixel pitch, indoor/outdoor specification, supporting structure, video processing, input switching, transport, crew, rental days and event operation.
